The Porsche 911 Carrera T is all about concentration on the essentials. Porsche is expanding the model range of the new 911 with the light, dynamic 911 Carrera T. Weight-saving measures, dynamic tuning and a six-speed manual gearbox make this a purist Carrera for unparalleled driving pleasure. With its lightweight windows, reduced insulation and six-speed manual transmission, the lightest configuration of the new 911 Carrera T, with full bucket seats, weighs just 1,478 kilograms. The ‘T’ stands for Touring and at Porsche this goes all the way back to the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. The first 911 T was produced until 1973. Since 2017, the 911 Carrera T has been produced back in the model range, positioned between the Carrera and the Carrera S. Pure driving pleasure, agile handling, emotional sound and a focus on the essentials are the distinguishing features of this rear-wheel drive sports car.

Powertrain: manual gearbox and six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer

The 911 Carrera T is powered by the 3.0-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine from the 911 Carrera. It delivers 290 kW (394 hp) and develops torque of up to 450 Nm. A standard six-speed manual transmission transmits drive power to the rear axle. When downshifting, an intermediate throttle function (auto-blip) can be selected to automatically and specifically compensate for speed differences between the engine and the gearbox. With the standard Sport Chrono Package, the Carrera T Coupé sprints to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.7 seconds). The top speed is 295 km/h (Cabriolet: 293 km/h). In line with its greater power compared to its predecessor, the Carrera has a larger braking system with a brake disc diameter of 350 millimeters all around and six-piston fixed brake calipers at the front. In combination with the reduced interior insulation and the auto-blip function, the standard sports exhaust system creates a particularly emotional soundscape.

Chassis and tuning: development exclusive to this model

As always, the Sport Chrono Package, including the Track Precision App, is part of the standard equipment of the 911 Carrera T. In addition, Porsche equips the model for the first time with rear-axle steering as standard in combination with a more direct steering ratio on the front axle, which significantly improves the driving behavior. is optimized. Lateral acceleration is generated faster and the steering is more responsive, while at the same time stability is increased. The tuning of the rear axle steering has been specially developed for the 911 Carrera T.

The PASM adaptive sports suspension, lowered by 10 mm, is also standard and has been given a model-specific, sporty tuning to make the Carrera T drive even better and more agile. Thanks to standard rear-axle steering and an aerodynamic balance optimized exclusively for the 911 Carrera T, the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are adjusted for neutral handling. The 911 Carrera T has 20/21 inch Carrera S alloy wheels. The front tires are 245/35 ZR20 and the rear tires are 305/30 ZR21.

Exterior and interior

Numerous features distinguish the Carrera T from other models in the series. A sticker with the shift pattern logo on each of the triangular rear windows identifies it as a manual-shifting and particularly puristic representative of the model line. The model designations on the back are in a contrasting color, vanadium gray. The inserts on the tailgate grille, the upper and lower trims of the exterior mirrors and the machine-polished alloy wheels are painted in matching vanadium gray metallic. Another feature of the Carrera T is the aerodynamically optimized spoiler lip, taken from the 911 Carrera GTS.

For the Porsche Carrera T, the Legends color scheme offers Shade Green Metallic, Crayon and Slate Gray Neo exterior colors, while the Dreams color scheme includes Guards Red, Lugano Blue, Gentian Blue Metallic and Cartagena Yellow Metallic. The Shades color scheme offers a choice of the more muted Jet Black Metallic, GT Silver Metallic and Ice Gray Metallic. Contrasts provides the solid black and white colors. Other body colors are available through the Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programs. The roof of the 911 T Cabriolet is optionally available in the colors Black, Red, Blue and Brown.

Sporty and black, with contrasting stitching on request, Porsche has given the interior of the Carrera T an emphatically purist look that is typical of the T model. The striking stopwatch from the standard Sport Chrono Package is prominently displayed on the dashboard. A number of special details emphasize the exclusivity of the 911 Carrera T as a manual sports car: the shortened gear lever is crowned with a gear lever knob made of open-pore walnut wood, which offers a special visual and tactile experience. There is a badge with the ‘MT’ (Manual Transmission) logo in front of the gear lever. The shift pattern logo is printed on the passenger side of the dashboard. The standard equipment also includes the leather-wrapped and heated GT sports steering wheel with a driving mode switch. Alternatively, a Race-Tex handlebar is also available. The decorative inlay in the dashboard and center console is vanadium gray, while the inlay in the door panel is in black brushed aluminum.

In keeping with the sporty character of its interior, the Carrera T has black, four-way electrically adjustable sports seats with Sport-Tex center seats as standard. The tartan fabric pattern of the interior is exclusive to the 911 Carrera T. The 911 logo is stitched into the headrests. Customers can optionally order the adaptive sports seats Plus (18-way adjustable) or particularly light, full bucket seats.

Carrera T packages for exterior and interior

The exclusivity of the 911 Carrera T is further enhanced by the Carrera T design packages for the exterior and interior. These are finished in the classic Porsche color Gentian blue, creating a striking color contrast. On the outside of the car, the inserts on the tailgate, the Carrera T stickers on the front and rear hatches and doors, the MT stickers and the alloy wheels with a gloss turned front are in this color. The upper shells of the exterior mirrors are in black. Contrasting stitching in Gentian Blue, instead of the standard black stitching, enhances the interior and the seats also feature contrast stripes in Gentian Blue. The same color also adorns the seat belts, center console trim and door panels, as well as the contrasting inserts and the stitched 911 logos on the headrests.
