Produced together with our friends at PocketGamer.fun – THE place to discover your next favorite mobile games – here’s our pick of this week’s best new titles.
While the deals and statistics of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and of course development that goes into making a great game. PocketGamer.fun brings you the latest games, lets you see them in action and download them straight from the page.
So here are today’s most exciting new mobile games, the developers and publishers behind them, and why exactly they made the choice.
Age of Empires mobile
The classic real-time strategy series Age of Empires Mobile has launched worldwide. Co-developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group and World’s Edge, the title combines familiar gameplay elements with new and mobile-specific game modes and features.
Players can participate in massively multiplayer online games such as Siege, an alliance-versus-alliance game mode featuring large-scale castle sieges with hundreds of players controlling thousands of units.
Ragnarok: Monster World
Monster World, the latest installment in the Ragnarok franchise, offers players yet another card-building opportunity, but this time featuring the adorable and curious Ragmons. There are over 400 types of Ragmon available, inspired by the wider Ragnarok series.
The task here should sound familiar to anyone versed in monster collectors: players should aim to collect them all. The Ragmon can also be merged to increase their level with an element of strategic planning needed to make them the strongest beasts around.
Singapore-based 0X& has also released Ragnarok: Monster World on mobile Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain, as this title’s Ragmon also function as NFTs.
Battle cars
Speed meets destruction in TinyByte’s Battle Cars, which deliver fast-paced shooting action to all kinds of pumped-up vehicles. Players will have to master their driving skills to survive in this post-apocalyptic MOBA cyberpunk space.
Choosing the best equipment to take into battle is essential, but depending on an individual’s playstyle, they may prefer an assault-heavy approach, a heavily armored metal monster, or perhaps a sleek machine built around agility.
TinyBytes already has experience in multiplayer arenas and mechanical combat with Massive Warfare: Tanks PvP War, but focuses more on the fantastic with this new car-based shooter.
Pocket necromancer
Sandsoft has published action RPG Pocket Necromancer worldwide on the App Store and Google Play. The title is described as a “fast-paced, action-packed RPG that combines strategy, humor and exciting combat.”
Players must build an army of mionions, defend their castle and explore a variety of environments across enchanted forests, shadowy caves and mystical landscapes.
Castle duels
After three months in beta form, Castle Duels has fully launched around the world, bringing with it the latest dose of real-time tower defense gameplay.
Now available on Android and iOS, this My.Games title has already racked up a million installs before its full release, thanks to a concept that combines strategic depth with chaotic PvP, where players must summon mages, minotaurs, succubi and more to Quickly engage in fast-paced, card-based battles.
There are currently 30 unique units to play as and several rankings between them, ranging from common to legendary.
And as you’d expect from a card-based game, these units can be combined into a personalized deck to provide virtually limitless strategies, taken much further by merge mechanics that unlock special abilities and powerful attacks.
Disney Pixel RPG
While the term Disney RPG could give many experienced gamers pause for thought Kingdom heartsMickey Mouse becomes more accessible in his latest gaming-related romp.
In fact, the recently released mobile adventure Disney Pixel RPG has nothing to do with the Kingdom Hearts series – it’s a standalone game that combines beloved IPs, beginner-friendly RPG gameplay, and bombastic pixel graphics with enough style to bring each character to life .
Disney Pixel RPG, developed by Disney’s newest partner GungHo Online Entertainment, has no shortage of potential characters to draw from: a 100-year legacy means quite a back catalog of characters.
Popular childhood icons from Pooh to Stitch, Aurora and even Baymax have already made their sprite-based appearances as playable characters in an ensemble cast.
As for why these characters came together, it’s because there’s a world to save. Several worlds actually. They have been invaded by strange reality-subverting programs, but can be stopped by the player through intuitive auto-combat and effective AFK management.
